Install on Shopify

Add Loomduct to a Shopify store.

Add the Loomduct script to your Shopify store by editing your theme's theme.liquid file. This covers every page of your store except checkout.

Before you start

  • The Loomduct snippet with your project token. Copy it from Install with the script tag and replace lmt_your_project_token with your token.
  • A backup of your theme. In the Shopify admin, duplicate the theme before you edit its code.

Steps

Open the code editor

In the Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes. Next to your current theme, select the … button, then Edit code.

Open theme.liquid

In the Layout folder, open theme.liquid.

Paste the snippet into the head

Find the line {{ content_for_header }}. Paste the Loomduct snippet on the line below it, before </head>. Do not change or remove {{ content_for_header }}. Select Save.

Shopify's own guide: Edit theme code. If you update your theme later, check that the snippet is still there.

Checkout pages

Loomduct does not track the checkout, Thank you and Order status pages yet. Shopify does not load your theme on these pages. It only runs code there as a custom pixel, and Loomduct does not support custom pixels yet.

Check that it worked

  1. Open your live site in a new tab.
  2. Open your project in the Loomduct dashboard. Your visit shows up as online now on the Overview within a few seconds.
