Exclude your own visits

Stop counting your own visits on your site.

Your own visits to your live site count like any other. To leave them out, set a flag in your browser. Visits on localhost are already skipped.

Before you start

  • Loomduct installed on your site. See the Quick start.

Steps

Open the browser console on your site

Open your live site, then open the browser's developer tools and select Console.

Set the flag

localStorage.setItem('loomduct_ignore', 'true')

From now on, Loomduct sends nothing from this browser on this site, right away and without a reload.

Do this once in each browser and on each site you use. To be tracked again:

localStorage.removeItem('loomduct_ignore')

Loomduct only reads this flag; it never writes anything to the device. To offer a "don't track me" switch to your visitors, set or remove the same flag from your own code.

Check that it worked

Set debug: true in your options (or add data-debug to the script tag) and reload the page. The browser console shows [loomduct] skipped: opt-out.
