Manage projects
Create projects, change their settings, rotate the project token and delete a project.
A project holds the data of one website or app. Each project has its own project token, so events from different sites never mix.
Only owners and admins of an organization can create, change and delete projects.
Create a project
Your first project is created when you sign up. To add another one:
Open the project menu
Select the project name at the top of the sidebar, open the submenu on the current project, and select Create project.
Fill in the project
- Name: up to 64 characters.
- Domain: the address of your site, like
example.com. - Time zone: the time zone of your reports. It starts with your browser's time zone, and you can change it later.
Select Create project. The dashboard opens the new project.
Install Loomduct with the new token
Each project has its own project token. Follow the Quick start with the token of the new project.
Change project settings
Open the project menu and select Project settings. Under Project you can change:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | The name in the dashboard. |
| Domain | The address of your site. |
| Time zone | Times in reports are shown in this time zone. |
| Week start | Monday or Sunday. |
| Currency | The currency of the project. |
Select Save to keep your changes, or Reset to undo them.
The page also shows the Project token and the Project ID, each with a copy button.
Rotate the project token
Rotate the token if it ended up somewhere it should not be, or to stop an old site from sending events.
- In Project settings, select the Rotate token button next to Project token.
- Select Rotate token to confirm.
The old token stops working right away. Events from sites that still use it are dropped until you update the token on your site.
Delete a project
- In Project settings, find Delete project and select its button.
- Type the project name to confirm, and select Delete project.
The project's token stops working right away and its reports are gone. This cannot be undone. An organization needs at least one project, so create another project before you delete the last one.
